This event will be a guided journey through intuitive painting, a method of art creation that centers on connection with self, presence, memory, sensation, and feeling. You will explore how feeling can be prioritized over the fact of how something looks, and how experimentation can be chosen over control. Over time, you will watch your pieces unfold and reveal themselves--a conversation between painter and painting. You will create work while learning tools and processes for creation as well as the relationship between color, form, and perception. Within these processes, endless variation and experimentation will happen.

Join local artist Bridgette Meinhold for an evening at the gardens to learn about watercolor painting in the outdoors. We will go over supplies, basic watercolor skills, and how to transform what we see in nature into a memorable painting. We will learn how to take our time in nature, use our observational skills, and how to turn those impressions into art. This class will take advantage of the beautiful location and the surrounding mountains will be our inspiration. This class is open to all skill levels and all are welcome, so bring your kids too!
Supplies: Bridgette will provide all the necessary supplies but feel free to bring your own. If you’d like to buy supplies, here are Bridgette’s recommendations.
Please wear sunscreen and bring a hat as the sun will still be shining on us. Bring water, snacks, and other beverages if you would like.
